This is the farmer sowing the corn,
That kept the cock that crowed in the morn,
That waked the priest all shaven and shorn,
That married the man all tattered and torn,
That kissed the maiden all forlorn,
That milked the cow with the crumpled horn,
That tossed the dog,
That worried the cat,
That killed the rat,
That ate the malt
That lay in the house that Jack built.

Kalpaka Park Residence, run by Mid Baltic Realty Ltd., is one of the most prestigious apartment buildings in Riga, situated in the very heart of the city, the up-market area of Kronvalda Park, nearby most of the embassies. The building built in late 19th century has recently been renovated and expanded with the modern-looking back part.

The original construction has been made by the first academically trained Latvian architect, Janis Baumanis. The new part of the building has been developed by one of the most known Latvian architects of today, Zane Kalinka. Kalpaka Park Residence provides modern luxurious environment and targets CD officials, international top managers and anyone interested in the superb apartments in the most beautiful region of the Riga city.
Mid Baltic Realty approached us with an idea of having a luxurious website for a luxurious building. The client wanted the website to have an emphasized branding and imaging effect, but at the same time to be informative and useful in sales. Among the goals was presenting the surroundings of the building, a beautiful Kronvalda Park, as well as showing old and new facades.
We started development in late December 2003, long after the renovation works have started. The construction works and winter weather were an obstacle for necessary photo material making, and we have turned to 3D modeling.

We have created the building’s model based the blueprints and plans we received from the architects. Using the model we developed nice images of both old and new facades and also created a great video clip that presents the building and surroundings from all angles. The creative concept, graphic design and technical implementation are building on the idea of combining the old and the new in a coherent, whole concept.

Mid Baltic Realty SIA, a property management company in Riga, approached Vide Infra Group for development of a website for one our properties – Kalpaka Park Residence at Kalpaka Blvd 7.

By choosing Vide Infra Group as the solution provider we were governed by the experience of our previous successful cooperation and their ability to understand our needs and offer a highly original and creative solution. The aim of the project was to create a promotional and informative website, that would differ from our corporate website and attractively present and speak about our top-offer at Kalpaka Blvd 7. Vide Infra professionals have done a great job investigating and displaying assets of the building – its history, style and class. They have managed to develop a versatile presentation with well-balanced visual, historic and informative parts.

We enjoyed the creative process of website development itself with its countless, ever-changing ideas and compromises, as well as the result. We are greatly satisfied with the job delivered and keep receiving approvals from the visitors of the website. We look forward to continue our cooperation with Vide Infra in the future.

I enjoyed that everyone on the team got truly inspired by the challenge, which resulted in a cohesive creative and technology work. Everyone was on the mission to develop the best solution for Kalpaka7 and that created an untapped professional atmosphere when one understood the other from a single word. I enjoyed dynamic work with Aleksey, talented and passionate designer, I loved that Jevgenija and Dmitry backed all our ideas seamlessly with the technology, and I was amazed when Janis showed his video. The overall result fell beyond my expectations.

First of all I would like to point to The Team, who made a titanic job on integrating the creative part and introducing the huge amount of changes - Jevgenija and Dmitry.
Kalpaka7 is one of the most interesting and sophisticated projects in my career. I’ve been submerged into the hectic work for more than a month when I was going to sleep and awaking thinking how to make the site better. Together with Anton, who generated the ideas and was a serious support for me, we made a great and important job and the result is obvious – people that would choose Kalpaka apartments will get surrounded by the luxurious atmosphere from the moment of visiting the site.
I’m sure that Kalpaka Park Residence website is the Latvian Web precious jewel.

At one moment we got carried away and left the prospects without a whole floor. Well, it's great that putting a missing floor back to the building is easier in the website than in real life.

Projects like Kalpaka7 give you a good opportunity to extend your knowledge.
The site has professional look. I have met many interesting task during the development of the site. One was an attaching a picture to a room (in other words adding a region on big picture which will be a link to a picture of a room), then it was making a JavaScript slider (during this one I found out many good things on implementing the JS in IE and Mozilla compatible browsers).
It would be good to add module for placing appliances and furniture into apartment to have a preview of you own apartment design :) this module could include notification part which will notify constructors to change position of item in the apartment.
How about renting one of the apartments? ;)
If you want to find a project combining professional graphics and code, you're in the right place:)
